You have a camera, right? Maybe it's one passed down from a family member and it's so old you wonder if it works. Possibly, you received a beautiful, shiny new digital camera with settings that outnumber your years on earth. Or, you rely on your phone, because it's always handy. Either way, you want to understand your tool, how to see your scene, and capture the moment.

After this workshop, you'll feel more confident, ready to try new angles, methods, and push your comfort level to the next notch.

So, what will you learn from this workshop?

  • What gear I use (and how you can get the most without breaking your budget)
  • Camera settings (those dials and buttons do important stuff!) + when and why to use them in various situations
  • How to use light to enhance your images (and what to do when the light is bumming you out)
  • Seeking the unusual to compliment beautiful composition
  • What to look for in creating a print worthy image (hint: it's all of this goodness + you)
 
 

The not-so-gritty details:

  • This in-person workshop will be held in Portland, OR on Saturday, Dec 2, 2017 @ 2pm. We will close up around 4:30.
  • Each participant will receive their own workshop folder. You will be able to take notes as well as follow along on the included worksheets. 
  • Class size is limited to 10 participants. I am keeping it small so you will receive individualized instruction and assistance. I want you to feel comfortable with your camera when you complete the workshop!
  • BONUS! You will be added to a private Facebook group where I will assign 5 projects post-workshop. Your work will be open to critique and feedback to further your learning. This group is also to share your questions, discuss amongst your classmates, and grow your skills.
