Summer at its finest. Strawberries from the garden, ungraciously smashed into a tiny mouth while juice drips from those delightful lips (honestly, nothing better than the pucker from a baby). This is good. This is real. Summer is fleeting, folks. Think about what you want to remember from sunny days as the darkness of winter blanket over you. I want to revel in... *laziness *garden harvests *reading in the hammock *shenanigans in the pool *camping by the river *sleepovers with friends *cookouts with loved ones *late, late nights What are you looking forward to? What are a couple of your favorite summer activities? I encourage you to just be. Take it all in and hopefully, hire someone (like me) to document a delightful summer day so you will remember what it felt like.
Summer is right around the corner, but today still feels like spring with the breezy movement of bright green leaves and grey skies. To combat the tiredness I’m feeling, I remembered this image I made in late March on an unseasonably warm day. Kids at play. Small humans who are all doing their own thing, regardless of who’s watching. I can’t wait for more days like this. Sun, family, friends, and all the feelings that spontaneously occur during summer. Days at school are numbered, so I won’t be seeing this view much longer. This boy of mine keeps stretching: in ways that sometimes take my breath away. His consciousness is strong, he has surpassed me in height, he laughs and feels deeply, but is still totally a kid growing into his place in the world. I’m so thankful to be alongside him, to witness who is becoming. I encourage you, reader/viewer, to do the same with your child(ren). It’s pretty damn amazing. #motheringteens
Our last day at Jean’s Farm was magical. Homemade pizza made using farm fresh cheese, herbs, and tomatoes. The kids made their own paint (egg yolks, ground rocks, turmeric and charcoal) to thank the farm for allowing us to use our hands to help make food for the community at large. I wonder at the beauty that surrounds these darling children and hope that the subtle impression of nature sets a foundation of care and thoughtfulness for our world. More to come as I process what we were a part of today. Thank you to Mother Earth and those who care for her.

After our stay on the South Shore, we headed north and were treated to a beautiful swim at the beach directly outside our hotel with SO many fish. We are looking forward to heading out again today once the tide is higher. #kauai #snorkeling #goprohero7black #tropicalspringbreak
